ABOUT US
David Reynoso is now the chef as a well as owner of Taqueria Maria, which, he said, they named “for the Virgin Mary” — and their mother, Maria.
Reynoso, 24, who grew up in a small town near Guadalajara, Mexico, had been working at a restaurant in East L.A. for five years when he got a call from a cousin who lives in American Canyon who wanted to tell him about an opportunity in Napa.
Tough economic times aside, Reynoso, with the help of his brothers, decided to take the plunge and open his own place.
“I like Napa,” he said. “I like the people. I grew up in a small town too.”
Reynoso has developed a menu of “authentic Mexican dishes with a southwestern flair,” served daily beginning with breakfast, starting at 8 a.m.
